Ingredients:
- 1 cup AGE rice
- 2 cups water or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup vermicelli noodles
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Sauté Onions: In a medium-sized pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
- Add Vermicelli: Add the vermicelli noodles and fry until they are golden brown, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Add Rice and Liquid: Stir in the soaked and drained AGE rice. Pour in the water or chicken broth and add salt. Bring to a boil.
- Simmer: Once boiling, cover the pot, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice is fluffy and fully cooked.
- Fluff and Serve: Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork. Serve as a side dish with grilled meats or stews.
